The Cartoon Museum has always had a friendly face to greet visitors. As a member of our Volunteer team, you will be this friendly face welcoming visitors and have the opportunity to be involved with a variety of tasks in the Museum. Come and join our award-winning team to help bring the best of British comics and cartoons to the public!

As a volunteer at The Cartoon Museum, you’ll get to:

Volunteers are an essential part of our operations. By joining our small team, you’ll gain hands-on experience working in a museum. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved with a variety of activities including:
Greeting and engaging visitors
Processing visitor admissions and shop purchases on the till
Running short gallery tours
Assisting with public events including comedy shows, talks, book launches and private viewings
Volunteers can also get involved with twice annual exhibition installation and supporting collection management projects

We’re looking for people who enjoy working with people, passionate about cartoon and/or comics, aren’t afraid of taking on responsibility and are open to learning and following direction.
We don’t require any previous experience. We train all our volunteers before they begin their roles, and on an ongoing basis as needed.

Commitment
We ask that Frotn of House Volunteers are available for a least one shift per week.
Hours
You can volunteer for a full day, a half day, Late openings, or evening events. You can offer your time to suit your own schedule. Our morning volunteers are asked to arrive 15 - 30 minutes before opening to help set up.
Benefits
By submitting the correct paperwork, you can be reimbursed travel and subsistence expenses up to £13 per day, in line with our policy.
