The Cartoon Museum’s two galleries and Clore learning studio provide a truly unique venue suiting a variety of hire needs. We are experienced in facilitating a wide range of events and will work with you to make sure we deliver your ideal experience.
Conveniently located in the heart of Fitzrovia, a short walk from both Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road Tube Stations, let us supply your event with a one of a kind backdrop of 250 year’s of the nation’s rich cartoon, caricature and comic heritage. Humour, history and fun sit at the heart of all we do.

Whole Museum
The two main galleries and Clore Learning Studio provide a large space, complete with nooks and crannies, which is perfect for a wide range of events from the intimate to the formal.
The temporary exhibition changes every six months, and there is a permanent display that tells the story of the cartoon artform from the 18th century to the present day. The artwork includes William Hogarth, Ronald Searle, Steve Bell and many more.
Capacity: 120
Cost: £2000 (plus VAT) up to 8 hours. An additional £250 per hour (plus VAT) for any additional hours.
Clore Learning Studio
The Clore Learning Studio is a more intimate yet flexible space perfect for meetings, birthday parties, workshops or away days. The room has AV capabilities, free Wi-Fi, and moveable furniture, and is bookable for varying lengths of time to suit your schedule.
The space features a quirky selection of comic book art adorning the walls.
Capacity: 30 (meeting/workshop) or 45 (theatre style)
Cost: £100 per hour (plus VAT) or full day (8 hours, 10am - 6pm) for £600 (plus VAT)
*please note that set up/set down time are to be accounted for when making your booking.

-Use of the projector in our Clore Learning Studio.
-Use of our tables and chairs, we have four large tressel tables and around 50 chairs.
-Coat racks (if needed).
-Use of our 8 easels if you need to display anything as part of your event.
-Museum has 3 gender neutral toilets, including 1 accessible toilet.

-PA System, £80.00 (plus VAT).
-Hire of our glassware @ £2.00 a head (plus VAT).
-A corkage fee of £5.00 (plus VAT) per bottle of wine/crate of beer.
-Tea and Coffee @ £3.00 a head (plus VAT).
-Tea, Coffee, Juice and snacks/biscuits/pastries (depending on what you’re after) @ £5.00 a head (plus VAT).
-For events that have drinks or catering we have a cleaning fee, this ranges from £65.00-£100.00 (plus VAT).
-We are able to provide a workshop with our Learning Officer who is a professional Cartoonist for £250 (plus VAT) There’s a wide range of workshops on offer with our most popular being ‘Caricatures’, please get in touch if you’re interested and we can provide you with a full list of options. Max 30 participants.
-If you’d like to store anything at the museum in the days before and after the event we have a daily charge between £30-£100 (plus VAT) depending on requirements.
Please note that we require a minimum of two weeks notice to arrange these optional extras.

Due to the nature of our site we are unable to provide in house catering apart from light refreshments detailed in our optional extras. If you are interested in having extended catering at your event, we have a list of trusted suppliers we can recommend. From sandwich platters for lunch meetings to canapes for drinks receptions, we are able to provide a wide range of options to suit your needs. Please reach out for more information.

The Clore Learning Studio is perfectly equipped to host your won workshop or event. We are able to offer a reduced hire rate for events benefitting the public.
Please note, ticket sales and administration of these events will be the responsibility of the hirer. This is solely for events for which you will be administering ticket sales and public enquiries.
Cost:£75 an hour (plus VAT) for events taking place within our opening hours, and £100 an hour (plus VAT) for events taking place outside of them.

-We are unable to alter any displays, remove exhibits or add anything to our walls for one off events.
-Due to our fire safety regulations we are not able to permit the use of candles.
-To protect the artwork on display, we are unable to permit the use of flash photography.
-Due to our central London location, we cannot provide parking. A loading zone is located immediately outside the Museum entrance.
-The Museum is fully wheelchair accessible, with a lift taking you from street level into the museum space.
-If you’re storing items with us, uncollected items will be taken as a donation after 1 week.
-We generally ask that venue hires do not go on past 11pm.
